Garbage pickup takes place between 6:30am and 9:00pm.
Each Tuesday west of Washington Ave., and each Wednesday east of Washington Ave. 

Recycling pickup takes place between 6:30am and 9:00pm. 
​Alternating every other 
Monday, east and west of Washington Ave.
(Please see the Calendar below for further details.)


Please place the provided garbage/recycling carts where they were originally dropped off; watch your neighbors to see where collection occurs on your block.

If residents have "additional bag(s) of garbage" that will not fit into the garbage container, residents can contact Republic Services at (715) 685-1434 or (715) 477-0077 to schedule collection of additional trash for a fee of $3.00 to be charged to the resident. “Additional bag(s) of garbage” shall mean garbage that fits into the general size plastic garbage bag that will not fit into the Company container due to that container already being full.

​Bills for refuse and recycling collection are issued quarterly.
​The Charge is $38.25/billing quarter and is on your City utility bill.

If your service day falls on one of the following holidays, your service will be one day later that week. Regular service will resume the following week.

Recycling in the City occurs on Monday, alternating for the east and west side of Washington Ave.

Unacceptable Items

​You may not discard these items at the curb:
  • yard and garden waste
  • lead acid (car) batteries
  • motor oil
  • automobile tires
  • furniture and television sets
  • major appliances: washer, dryer, oven, furnace, water heater or other "white goods"
  • gravel, concrete, construction or demolition waste
  • large vehicle parts
  • explosives or ammunition
  • human or animal waste
  • dead animals
  • chemicals
  • paint
  • hazardous or toxic waste materials
  • flammable liquids
  • hot ashes
​For information on disposal of such items, call Republic Services at 715-477-0077.

fall CLEANUP DAY  -  november 5, 2022

The City will hold a Spring Clean Up on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., for Residents Only.  Please see flyer below for details on what can be accepted and the fees involved.  The Clean Up will occur at the City Yard Waste Site

Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep Day

Household hazardous waste collection was on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Bayfield County Fairgrounds in Iron River.  Please see the flyer for details on what can be accepted and the fees involved.
