Crew Leader
The City of Washburn is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Crew Leader within the Department of Public Works. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position requiring the successful applicant to work a schedule of Monday through Friday and any emergency or non-emergency on-call assignments as necessary for the City. The position will oversee the maintenance of public buildings and facilities, parks and campgrounds, streets, and municipal cemetery. Candidates must have working knowledge of operation of heavy equipment, must have an outstanding driving record, must be able to obtain a Wisconsin CDL, must have high school diploma or equivalent, and must successfully pass a physical examination and drug and alcohol screening, and criminal background check. Previous experience as a heavy equipment operator is preferred. All other job requirements are outlined in the job description.
Beginning wage is $27.20 hour, based on 2023 wages. Excellent fringe benefit package, including health insurance. Initial application deadline is 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023; however, the position will remain open until filled. The City of Washburn is an equal opportunity employer.

SEASONAL SUMMER LABORER |
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) (paid-on-call) |
The City of Washburn is currently recruiting for Seasonal Summer Laborers within the Department of Public Works. The position hours vary and may include up to five (5) consecutive eight (8) hours days M-F, 6:30am-3:00pm. Employment will run between May through September. The duties of this position will be to perform maintenance, lawn care, painting, general labor and assistance with occasional construction to the City’s buildings, parks, trails, cemetery, utilities, roads, and harbor.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent, able to carry out tasks efficiently and productively in the absence of supervision, knowledge of safety practices required for public works operations, have and maintain a safe driving record, and have access to dependable transportation. The City of Washburn, Wisconsin is seeking dedicated and committed individuals to serve as a paid-on-call Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). All eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Selected applicants whom do not possess a valid Wisconsin EMT Basic License will be required to complete the 180hr EMT Training Program and must be capable of meeting WITC’s program admission requirements. EMTs are required to work at least six, 6-hour shifts per month and receive compensation per each call response. The City of Washburn is an equal opportunity employer.
