Located at the gateway to Lake Superior's Apostle Islands, the Washburn Marina provides fuel services, washrooms and showers, pump-out, water, electricity, ship store and attendants.

Washburn Boat Marina

 

The Marina is located three blocks from the City's commercial district at the foot of Central Avenue, just west of the commercial dock. The Marina is full-service, with 138 slips, dockage, boat launch, indoor and outdoor boat storage, a 150-ton travel lift, and repair facilities for most pleasure and smaller commercial craft. The commercial port of Washburn is located three blocks from the City's central business district. The City offers commercial boaters a variety of services including dockage, leased bulk cargo storage areas, boat ramps, a 150 ton boat lift, indoor and outdoor vessel storage, and vessel repair.

The City of Washburn contains one of the last working bulk cargo docks on Chequamegon Bay. Leased bulk cargo storage space is available by contacting Washburn City Hall, P.O. Box 638, Washburn Wisconsin 54891, or call City Administrator Scott Kluver at 715-373-6160, ext. 4.

 

Harbor Commission

The City of Washburn Harbor Commission is authorized under Wisconsin Statutes 30.37 and 30.38 to have exclusive control of the commercial aspects of the day-to-day operation of the harbor and its facilities; the Commission plans additional Marina amenities and ongoing capital improvements.

Meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm at City Hall. This may be subject to change; call City Hall at 715-373-6160 to confirm.

Request for Applications: Commercial Dock Space

Notice is hereby given that the City of Washburn Harbor Commission is accepting applications from companies and organizations to lease space on the City’s Commercial Dock on Lake Superior for the 2009 construction season. The City has available four (4) spaces (130’ x 120’) on its commercial dock beginning April 15, 2009. Applications will be received by the City of Washburn Harbor Commission for said space at the Office of the City Clerk, 119 Washington Avenue, P.O. Box 638, Washburn, WI 54891 until all spaces have been leased. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.

Copies of the proposed lease for space from the City of Washburn Harbor Commission may be picked up at the Office of the City Clerk. Copies of the proposed lease may be mailed upon request by contacting Mr. Scott Kluver at 119 Washington Avenue, P.O. Box 638, Washburn, WI 54891, or call at 715-373-6160 Ext. 4, or e-mail at Washburnadmin@charter.net .

Interested applicants shall state the name of their organization, provide contact information, indicate the spaces they are interested in, the proposed time frame for the lease, be prepared to provide any additional information as required by the proposed lease, and any other pertinent information as necessary. By responding to this RFA an individual respondent accepts that the final determination of the City of Washburn Harbor Commission is binding and without appeal. The City Administrator reserves the right to reject any or all applications and/or waive any irregularities if deemed in the best interests of the City. The City of Washburn Harbor Commission reserves the right to accept the proposal considered most advantageous to the City of Washburn. All respondents accept this process in submitting an application.
